Thick Greek yogurt whipped with honey, vanilla and lemon zest into a creamy, lightly sweet dip that makes fresh fruit taste even better.

Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 6 people
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt full-fat
  • 2 tablespoons honey plus more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon optional
  • Pinch of fine salt
  • Fresh fruit pretzels and graham crackers, for serving

Method

  1. Whisk the Greek yogurt in a medium bowl for about 20 seconds until completely smooth and creamy.
  2. Drizzle in the honey and whisk until no streaks remain.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract, lemon zest, lemon juice, cinnamon if using, and the pinch of salt.
  4. Taste with a piece of fruit and adjust: more honey for sweeter, more lemon juice for brighter.
  5. Cover and refrigerate 15 to 30 minutes if you have time, or serve right away.
  6. Spoon into a small serving bowl and serve in the center of a platter of fresh fruit.

Notes

  • Use Greek yogurt for a thick dip that clings to fruit; strain regular yogurt for 30 minutes if that is what you have.
  • For a dairy-free version, use thick coconut or almond yogurt and swap the honey for maple syrup.
  • Variations: fold in 1/4 cup mashed strawberries, swirl in 2 tablespoons peanut butter, or add 1 tablespoon cocoa powder plus 1 extra teaspoon honey.
  • Leftovers keep in a covered container in the fridge for up to 4 days; stir before serving. Do not freeze.
