Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 0.5 cup

Ingredients

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 small pinch red food coloring

Method

  1. Add the powdered sugar to a small mixing bowl and break up any lumps.
  2. Slowly add the milk while stirring continuously.
  3. Add a tiny pinch of red food coloring.
  4. Mix the ingredients together with a spoon or small whisk.
  5. Continue mixing rapidly until the glaze is smooth and evenly colored.
  6. Check the consistency by lifting the spoon and allowing the glaze to drip back into the bowl.
  7. If the glaze is too thick, add a few drops of milk. If it is too thin, add a little more powdered sugar.
  8. Drizzle or spread the finished glaze over completely cooled baked goods.

Notes

  • Add milk slowly because you may not need the entire 2 tablespoons.
  • A tiny amount of red food coloring is enough to create a soft pink shade.
  • Add more food coloring gradually for a brighter pink.
  • Add powdered sugar to thicken a runny glaze.
  • Add a few drops of milk to thin a glaze that is too thick.
  • Let baked goods cool completely before glazing.
  • Use the glaze soon after preparing it for the easiest decorating.
